It Arrived!

Today was a nice little package in the mail box. My new Wii had arrived. Funny... living in a small town I guess it's not an issue putting it in the mailbox... Over lunch I quickly set it up to test it out. My son is going to get in great shape with the boxing game! He's already a pro! I had some trouble connecting it to my wireless network... didn't have much time to fiddle with it so I'll look at it some more when I get home.

Bummed Out!

Here we are in Toronto on the first part of our weekend away. And unfortunately we're going to head back home... my little guy Cameron seems to have come down with a horrible cough and a bad ear infection. Seeing as how he was going to spend the weekend visiting his cousin, we would feel terrible to pass that on to all the other kids. Too bad. I was really looking forward to seeing everyone and to check out the Becket Players show. I've been involved with that group for over 15 years and was really looking forward to seeing everyone. Hopefully we can reschedule another weekend to go.

Don't You Just Hate That...

Today we were supposed to receive new bedroom furniture that we had purchased last week. It was in stock and our delivery date was confirmed for today. Last night, they phoned us to confirm the address and the time of their arrival... so my wife spends the entire day at home today waiting for them to show up. And they don't! No call. No nothing. Now their office is closed and we have no way to reach them. And tomorrow we're both out all day and then planning on being out of town as of Friday... so who knows when this stuff is going to show up. Ah well... maybe there's still a chance they'll show up tonight... UPDATE: Yay! The furniture arrived. Cool! Now I don't have to worry about missing it arriving and we can finally get our room set up nice.

Wiiiiiii!!!!

On Friday I finally broke down and picked up a new Nintendo Wii on Ebay . I managed to win one for about $50 more then I would have paid in the store (that's much better then the $200 increase around Christmas!) I figured with all the driving I'm doing every Friday and Saturday mornings to try to find one I'm probably saving money on the gas :) Now here's hoping it doesn't get lost in the mail and I get it this week :)

Facebook

I've finally started playing around with Facebook . I've been hearing about it for quite a while but never really had a chance to see what it's all about. Pretty neat. So far I like it a lot better then MySpace . Probably has to do with the fact that it doesn't belong to Microsoft :) I guess was an IBM/Lotus guy, always an IBM/Lotus guy! If you're on Facebook be sure to put me on your friend list. My profile is here .

Thanks!

A big thanks to everyone who sent an email or IM and wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday. I really appreciate all the kind sentiments.

Deep Breath.... Relax!

Ahhhhh..... the crunch is over! This past month has been crazy around our place! With trips for us to Ottawa and Montreal, then visitors from Nashville and Montreal, on top of that 2 papers to write for school and 5 Easter services happening at our church, March and early April quite exhausting. So, now, school is finished. I handed in my last paper yesterday. If you're interested in reading it you can click here . Not sure if it's as good as I would have liked, but with just being so busy I'm quite happy that I was able to even finish it. And I did learn a TON of stuff writing it, which, I guess, is the point :-) So now I can get on a few ministry areas that I really want to put more energy into. The first is the Small Group Ministry. I haven't had any real chance since the conference in California to even look at the material I picked up there. Two other priorities are the Women's Ministry and the Singles Ministry. I admit that I'm not all that familiar wi

Happy Easter

Just want to wish all of you a wonderful Easter as you celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I'm using this day to celebrate all the reasons I have to be thankful to God. My Savior, my family, my friends, my church, my health, my school, my geek stuff , my town, my country, and all the other reasons I have to just be thankful today!

Seminary Update

On Tuesday I received back the paper I wrote on the theology presented in the book Natural Church Development. I was quite shocked with my grade. I received an A! Anyone interested can read the paper here . Please feel free to comment. So now I just have one last paper to finish writing. It's due on Tuesday. It needs to be between 20-24 pages. I'm up to 10 pages already and still have TONS of material that I can add to it. I should have the first draft finished by the end of the day tomorrow. I'm actually doing a lot better in this class then I was expecting. I figured my first course, especially since it's in a new field was going to be really hard. Back when I was in college I wasn't a very good student. I worked VERY hard but really struggled just to get passing grades... I guess this built into me a bit of an insecurity about school and continuing my education. Maybe it's just the maturity which comes with being nearly 36 years old... or maybe it's

Free Comic Book Day

Image
I had heard about this last year two days too late. So I was quite glad to see the advertisement for "Free Comic Book Day" when I found a new comic store this past Saturday! The annual event is the perfect opportunity to introduce your friends and family to the many worlds of wonder available at your local comic book store. From super-heroes to slice-of-life to action/adventure and beyond, Free Comic Book Day has a comic book for everyone! For a preview of the free comics which will be given out just click the image below! I'll be going to CARRY-ON COMICS & BOOKS at 32 King St. in Waterloo with my kids. I plan on being there bright an early since I don't want to miss out on the Transformers movie prequel comic!

Please Pray for Tess

I was talking this weekend to our friend David and shared some news regarding his grand-daughter Tess. In mid-March doctors had discovered that she has a tumor between her spin and her lungs. Tess is four years old. Her dad, Tim, is keeping a blog going with the updates of all the tests that this brave little girl is going through. So if you think about it please send up another prayer or two for Tess and her family as they go forward with her treatment. Thanks! As a dad of a four year girl myself this hits all the heart strings I own!
