Small Group Leader Podcast Revamp!

Yup... it's been MONTHS since the last podcast for the Small Group Leader Lifter... several reason why: We changed our hosting options here at the church and that affected pretty much every single piece of media out there... you may have noticed that all the links to the podcast have been dead...   I've been working BIG TIME on why we do small groups at our church and what is the purpose for that ministry.  This has been a HUGE learning process... both in small group ministry in general and getting to understand the culture of our church better. and I have many other excuses but I won't bore you with those!  :-) But, now, after doing a lot of praying and thinking on how to continue with the podcast I'm nearly ready to get the podcast back going again.  YAY! The first change is a new hosting environment.  I've transferred all the past episodes to a new location to be available to listeners.  Also, because I've been getting more and more downloads from people from...

Rick Warren’s podcast lets pastors learn from each other

A few weeks back I was interviewed by Manda Gibson from Saddleback Church to get my opinion on Rick Warren's new podcast. The article entitled "Rick Warren’s podcast lets pastors learn from each other" is now online. You can read it HERE . It's a bit misquoted... I was talking about how, now that I'm a pastor, it's easy to get stuck in the day-to-day of the church... that really had nothing to do with the fact that I came to faith in my twenties. Also, going to see the Transformers with a friend from outside the church was an example of the importance of having friends outside the church building. It's not easy for me to make friends outside the church... I guess for some reason guys just don't wanna hang out with a pastor :)

Planet Hulk Review

Image
I did a review for the trade edition of Planet Hulk for the Radio Wayne podcast. If you want to check it out, you can download the podcast HERE . You can also join the podcast's social network HERE . I really enjoy the Radio Wayne podcast. It's the perfect mix of all the geeky hobbies that I love. And each podcast is only about 30-40 minutes. That's fits much better with my lifestyle. So many other podcasts are just WAY too long and lose my attention. I guess that's just my ADHD kicking in :) If I ever do another review for Radio Wayne, I'll be sure to not do it at midnight when everyone is asleep like I did for this one. I sound like a goof! Subscribe to Radio Wayne if you're into all things geeky. You won't be disappointed.

Podcast Clean-Up

I love podcasts. In fact, I love them so much I've now found myself subscribed to over 30 different podcasts! From faith, to comics, to Star Wars, to Wii, to ministry, to technology. They covered a huge spectrum of my interests. But reality has kicked in... the reality that there is NO WAY that I can listen to all of these podcasts. My listening and reading time just seems to be very limited so I need to manage it a lot better. And besides, my little 1G iPod Nano can't hold that many non-listened podcasts. So I figured it was time to clean up house. I've decided to keep it down to just four podcasts (five if Wayne ever starts up his podcast again)... I took out all the technology ones (seeing as how I don't work in tech, and can't afford to buy all the newest toys) and hobby stuff (there are enough great websites to cover that). So here is my list of podcasts that I'm sticking with for now: Rick Warren's Podcast : This is a FANTASTIC podcast for pastors! I ...
